Everyone loves to have their homes looking their best, but there is no point going to all the bother of designing your home with care and attention if it doesn’t smell great too. Even the most beautiful decorative effects will have little impact if the first thing you notice on entering a room is a lingering unpleasant odour or stale atmosphere. That is where home fragrances come into play.
Home fragrances have moved on considerably since the days when they consisted of little more than cheap mass market electric plug-ins or (dare I say it) the dreaded air freshener spray which more often than not smelled worse than any odour it was attempting to cover up.
Anyone looking for home fragrances nowadays has the choice of picking from an increasing range of products including good old fashioned incense sticks (anyone remember them from the Sixties?), scented candles and a variety of fragrance diffusers, including electrical diffusers and their more elegant counterparts, reed diffusers oil diffuser B0BN8G88YY.
Of all these options, perhaps the fastest growing in terms of popularity is the reed diffuser. So to what does the reed diffuser owe this rise in popularity? Well, there are several advantages which the reed diffuser has over other types of home fragrance.
Scented candles are perhaps the first thing you think of when considering home fragrances. With the combination of delightful fragrances and the enduring appeal of a flickering flame, they are an obvious choice when you are looking to introduce sweet smelling scents to your home or office. But scented candles do have their drawbacks.
Firstly they are not always suitable if you have children or pets at home as their bright colours and flame may attract unwanted attention, posing the possibility of them being accidentally knocked over, with the attendant risk of fire. Also, scented candles by their very nature only really function properly when they are lit. Sure they do have a subtle fragrance when they are unlit but this is simply not to enjoy them at their best. No, to get the most from your scented candles they should be lit and of course this cannot be done if your candle is likely to be left unattended. In this respect reed diffusers offer a more convenient home fragrancing solution. They do not require a flame to make them work, and they also provide a continuous, though subtle, fragrance to your room, which is not dependent on a wick being lit.
Reed diffusers can be placed anywhere you wish as they do not need electricity to function, so they are perfect for smaller rooms such as bathrooms or halls. Unlike scented candles, reed diffusers also offer you the opportunity of varying the intensity of the perfume they provide simply by means of turning the reeds in the scented oil. If you require a fragrance “boost”, simply turn the reeds in the scented oil at more frequent intervals; if you prefer a less intense fragrance just leave the reeds for longer before turning them or else place a few less reeds in the oil.
And what of the other options? Incense sticks tend to be associated with heavier, woodier fragrances, which are often less than subtle and not really in tune with modern lifestyle trends, while electrical diffusers, quite apart from the fact that they require power to function (and therefore must be placed within easy reach of an electrical socket), do not offer the same winning combination of good looks and subtle, variable fragrance which their reed diffuser counterparts can offer.
